So first let me, Peaches, apologize for my absence lately. My life has been going through a lot of changes and I needed to take time to mentally prepare myself for the future. But with the help of our new President, Barack Obama, at 11pm on Nov. 4, 2008, I gained new faith in myself, my people, and my country.
I shared the moment at home with my mother who was born in 1944 (ironically she witnessed an African American elected the 44th President of the United States) and my 87 year old grandmother. I can only imagine the emotions that were running through those two as I know they have both witnessed racial discrimination, they have both fought in the Civil Rights Movement, and they have both prayed for a better America for their children and grandchildren. It is a night that I will always remember and hold dear to my heart as I continue my journey through life.
I'm sure we all have some great memories from Nov. 4th. Please share on our blog if you'd like. I do not regret that I was not out and about partying that night, mainly because I know I will be partying this weekend all the way until January for the inauguration. I'm thinking of going to the All Black Affair at the Velvet Room Tonight. So if anyone else is going out to celebrate our newest hero of the revolution, maybe I'll run into you. Have fun and be safe!
Stay tuned cause "We Did That"~ Peaches

This is fabulous ladies...this is your dear and oh-so-pretty line sister Dramatic Pink. :-D I love the blog...very informative. I must say that I was very much overcome with emotion when Barack was elected president. He had so much support from blacks and whites, and I know that he will be the best 44th president that he can be! It is great to be living in a time when such great historical and monumental events are happening! Yes we can...and and YES we did! I miss you ladies, and I hope to see you all soon.
Janet
